fire springs storytellers

Fire Springs storytellers will be bringing the Bard's tales to life with their bardic arts. Shakespeare drew his tales from many sources, and we’re going back to his bardic roots to bring you tragedy, comedy and a little bit of history. Featuring a salty King Lear, the real medieval Macbeth, Richard III, twins and deception, and, for one night only, Shakespeare's (extremely alleged!) arch-nemesis Robert Greene's tale of Friar Bacon and Friar Bungay...

Fire Springs are a Stroud, Bath and Swindon-based company of storytellers and musicians. The group was founded in 2000, and has staged the ecobardic storytelling epics Arthur’s Dream, Robin of the Wildwood, and Return to Arcadia and pioneering compilations of history, myth, and intercultural encounter, such as Voices from the Past, Vanished Voices, Tales from the Saxon Shore and A Fair Field Full of Folk.

'I've been to a lot of storytelling up and down the country and this is as good as it gets'

Ronald Hutton, Bath Literature Festival
