Much Ado About

Nothing (ABRIDGED)

stormcloud arts & theatre

“I had rather hear my dog bark at a crow, than a man swear he loves me”

After their successful production of ‘Midsummer Weekender’ at Stroud Shakespeare Festival 2018, StormCloud Arts & Theatre bring you a new modern language adaptation of another beloved romantic-comedy – ‘Much Ado About Nothing’! This abridged production takes you to 1940's Britain, where soldiers have just returned from conflict, women want to stay working, and the war is still on the tip of everyone’s tongues. Amongst the masked balls and revelry that arrives with the end of the Second World War, old romances are rekindled, as well as old grudges. What should be a time for joy and parties, slowly turns sour thanks to a darker plot that is put into play…

In typical StormCloud fashion, this production will be full to the brim with live music and song, along with swing and jazz inspired dance numbers. Prepare for love plots, masked balls, mistaken identity, and a merry battle of wits, all set to the soundtrack and backdrop of 1946.
